Workshop with Chris Potter
As a soloist, composer and bandleader, saxophonist Chris Potter has emerged as a leading light of his generation. DownBeat called him, “One of the most studied (and copied) saxophonists on the planet,” while JazzTimes identified him as, “a figure of international renown” and saxophonist Dave Liebman called him simply, “one of the best musicians around.”
On tour with AZIZA, he has appeared on more than 100 recordings, released 15 albums, and has performed or recorded with leading names in jazz – Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, John Scofield, the Mingus Big Band, Jim Hall, Paul Motian, Dave Douglas, Ray Brown and more, including Steely Dan’s Grammy award-winning Two Against Nature.
This is a rare opportunity to learn from one of the world’s leading jazz musicians.
Entry is free* but a donation towards this event would be greatly appreciated. Every contribution, big or small, helps us dream bigger, create new and innovative experiences, welcome world-class artists to WA, and keep the magic of jazz alive for years to come.
